Christmas in Washington DC is my personal collection of photographs capturing the whimsy and wonder of the holidays in our nation’s capital. Each morning I leave my condo before daybreak to walk the deserted paths of the U.S. Capitol Grounds. I also explore the illuminations at the U.S. Botanic Gardens. Then I meander down the quiet streets of the historic Capitol Hill neighborhood to admire the Christmas decorations.
Along the way, I try to slow down and really look at my world. And I marvel at its beauty.
Come take a virtual walk with me during the 25 days leading up December 25th.

Now on December 26, we look forward to a happy & healthy 2021. Take time to explore nature this winter. I leave you with this winter poem, called “Night.”
Stars over snow,
And in the west a planet
Swinging below a star —
Look for a lovely thing and you will find it,
It is not far —
It never will be far. — Sara Teasdale
